PLAYING FAIR

Beyond the Ballot is an independent community opinion poll presented by Cape Flats Stories. It is not an official election, IEC ballot or scientific election forecast and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC).

• One vote per person per poll.
• No automated, scripted or bulk voting. Suspicious votes may be held for review or excluded from the results.
• Results may not be presented as official election results or as a scientific forecast.
• Do not try to interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer the website.

• Questions must be respectful and on topic. Hate speech, threats, personal attacks and misinformation will be removed.
• The hosts and producers choose which questions are asked. Submitting a question does not guarantee it will be read.
• If your question is used, your first name and area may be shown on screen and on the broadcast.

• Open to South African residents who have voted in a Beyond the Ballot poll and verified that vote with a one-time SMS code.
• One entry per verified mobile number per competition. Bonus entries: +2 for the live broadcast keyword and +1 per referred friend who votes, verifies and enters (maximum 10).
• Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries, weighted by entries held, live during the broadcast. The draw is final.
• Winners are contacted by SMS on the verified number and must claim their prize within 7 days, after which a new winner may be drawn.
• Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless the sponsor agrees.
• Employees and immediate family of Cape Flats Stories may not win.
• Entries that use fake numbers, multiple identities or automation will be disqualified.
